Are you planning on doing any spring cleaning this year? If so, please share a cleaning tip you swear by.
I don't have a tip so much as a philosophy. My philosophy on Spring cleaning is to be ruthless, like the Vikings on the Irish coast. You must be able to part with possessions without weakness or second thoughts. George Forman grill? Gone. Duplicate set of Christmas dishes? Gone. Jeans, ugly sweaters, shoes, Scent Stories, Polly Pocket shoes, magazines, junk mail, plastic cups and bowls... Gone. Gone. Gone.
I have done a great deal of Spring cleaning these last two weeks. I have loaded boxes and bags full of albatrosses and balls-and-chains, and now, with each box the taste of freedom becomes stronger in my mouth. I always do my spring cleaning alone. The others don't have the stomach for what needs to be done. I tell them to look away. I can deal with their grief. I cannot, however deal with the claims on my space and time that these harpy-like possessions demand. Their heads come off now.
List five reasons (at least) why you are awesome.

1. I know how to make perfect gravy.
2. I remember all the math equations that matter and can use them when it counts.
3. I can sew up just about anything, using my own pattern.
4. I don't keep score.
5. I'm never bored, and as a result, never boring.
Ringtones: What's yours and how often do you change it?

My ringtone is Superman by R.E.M. I don't change it. My friend Mike works for the cell phones, and he sends me funny ringtones all the time, but I've never liked one enough to change it.
Where do you consider home? Is it the place you grew up; the place you're currently living? Why is it home?

I always considered our house on Linnville Road home, because it was the only constant place in my life, even though I only really lived there for about five years. My grandparents bought it in the 1950's, and it was a huge piece of land with two houses, a shop, a barn-like shed, and a giant garage. It's where our upholstery shop was. My grandparents sold it to my uncle, who then sold it to my aunt after about fifteen years. She let it go into foreclosure because she was on drugs. My mom then bought it, and after a while we lost it too.
My great-grandparents lived in one of the houses, and planted things all over the place. There was always a huge garden, grape arbors and raspberry bushes. I learned to sew there. I met my husband there. When we lost the house, people came in and took out all the things that had been planted, including iris plants that had been there forty years, they gutted things that my family had built. It broke my heart. I have dreams about that place. It's stuck in my psyche like my mother. When people came to visit us, they never said they were coming to see people, they always just said, "We're going to Linnville Rd."
My uncle bought the house next door to it, and he bought the woods behind it too. I've been there, spying on the people who live there now. The siding needs cleaned, and the landscaping needs tended. They've mentioned that they think the place is haunted, but they have no clue that my uncle used to own it. They said they can hear card games, and laughing. I hope it is haunted, at least until I go buy it back.

TV, books, movies: Who's your favorite fictional father?
Atticus Finch.
What is the most interesting class you have ever taken?
Submitted by Melissa.
American Religious History.
My professor was a Lutheran minister, and he really did a fantastic job. He told good stories and took us to crazy churches. I had only ever been to Catholic churches, so I really enjoyed checking out how the Baptists and the Jews did things. That class made me want to know more about religion and myth, and I continue to grab every book on the subject I can find.
How many TVs do you have in your house?
Um, seven. I think the mom on Back To The Future would try to tell you that I'm pulling your leg, but I'm not.
Who is your favorite video game character?
Submitted by Korgoth.
Well Link, he's my all-around favorite.
There are some others who fall into the favorite category too. Kratos from God of War is one balls-out badass, and Sam Fisher always impresses me. I also really like both Ryo and Ren from Shenmue II. But those lucky hit guys, "You wanna play a game of lucky hit?", they're gross.
